Friday night... of the future.
Apr. 30th, 2006 04:25 pmI mean this coming Friday.
Okay, I should be doing a big update (Florida trip, Ali getting high, etc) but wouldn't ya know, I gotta go to work!
So I went to the chruch for the meeting (of me, Mr Steve Myers, and Audry Ross) for "Friday Night Preview" a little 30 minutes skit thing we do the night before PArticipation day, the auction we have to raise money for the chruch.
So we're doing an "American Idol" spoof. I's puppeteering "Randy Jackson". I am a bit disappointed with the script. Seems Audrey wrote it and it just isn't that funny. Steve usually writes it and performs lead male, but he wont be here since his daughter Stefanie is graduating from college.
Anyway, he was thinking of puppet the whole big puppet stage up (which is the height of puppeteers sitting in chairs with their arms straight up) for my area. Hell to the no, one might say. In somewhere other than a chruch. I told him, "Hey, why not just put Randy AT the table, get me a reclining beach chair or something and something to sort of rest my arm on."
That could work, says he.
Of course it can, says I, and explained the "muppeteers chair".

Anyway, I'm using a puppet with green skin and blonde hair for Randy. Ha. And I have to figure out how to become Kevin Clash by this Friday. Haha. Not really. Just gotta "sound more manly" (says Steve).
Audrey called him "Stevie" on several occasions which ammused me to no end. (I've been Stef's friend for years, and always called her parents "Mr. Steve" and "Mrs. Rebecca". And "Stevie" is just damn cute no matter who you are.)
And though it was Audrey's script, he was taking us through it and *explaining* it to *her*. Steve's not even gonna be here for the thing! He's not exactly on the Jim Henson boat of cooperation and intigration, but he's still a pretty okay guy.
And I gotsa get to work.
