It's a half-assed review. Because I seriously suck at reviews and if I can't make fun of it, what's the point. I've learned I need to stick to making fun of. But making fun of a movie about Mark David Chapman was... a bit creepy. Like everything else in this film! (Except Lindsey Lohan. I found myself thankful for her sheer presence in this movie.)

It's all behind the cut.

Alot of people have big reservations about this movie...

Okay, well, first of all, I *don't* like seeing a trailer for ANOTHER film about Mark David Chapman in front of a movie about Mark David Chapman. FTW, movie?

Also, Jerad Leto looks like he gain about fifty pounds for this movie. The other movie (the trailer for "The Killing of John Lennon") looks like they pulled some guy in off the street. Actually doesn't even look like MDC in the first place.

I like "Chapter 27" better than that movie already.

Even Lindsey Lohan is totally creeped by Jared Leto. So am I with Jared's "inner voice" voice. It sounds a bit different than his "outside" voice.

Even the hooker's creeped out by him! Jared plays this role with a great akwardness.

Anyway, it's about 45 minutes in now, not really that great a movie. It's a bit slow, pacing wise. Some nice shots and all. And Lindsey Lohan is pretty good in it.

It seems more about his preperation and that yes, he's crazy, then giving any of his own reasoning behind it.

An hour in now, the man playing John doesn't sound much like him. His voice is too deep. Anyway...

Alot of the movie is Mark trying to stop himself as well.

Yoko's scream is heartbreaking.

So not a terrible importance for this movie. Lindsey Lohan gives a good performance but Jared Leto's isn't as awesome as the cover tries to make it.

The movie ends how all "Base on a true story" movies end, with a "Where are they now":

"For several years John Lennon's killer alternated between the belief that he was the embodiment of Holden Caulfield and a renewed faith in the Bible.

Today he is a born again Christian."

(And then him being denied parole, yada yada.)

So, this movie, to mean, neither humanizes or villianizes Chapman. Which could be good. Exact in this case it wasn't.

It was pretty boring.

I was happy to see Lindsey Lohan on screen.

(I bet you don't hear that from many people. Meaning that they're tired of her tabloid stuff, but she's actually a good actress.)

I'd give it a two and a half.

For anyone looking to find out anything other than "Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon," "Mark David Chapman had an obsession with 'Catcher in the Rye'," "Mark David Chapman waited outside on several occasions for John and got him to sign 'Double Fantasy'," than don't see this movie. Because there's no new information, fictional or whatever besides Paul the camera man who is creeped out by Mark and Lindsey Lohan who plays Jude (seriously, movie, seriously?) who tries to befriend Mark but is creeped out and even more creeped out when they see Sean Lennon in the park, to see here.

So don't feel bad if you want to download it or rent it so you can fairly give your opinion, just use mine: Jared Leto succeeded in being creepy, Lindsey Lohan succeeded in being creeped out and looking good in a black wig and the rest was kind boring, creepy "let's follow MCD around until he shatters the hearts of billions of people."
